The Director’s Cut, Vol. 4-4

September came fast and flew by!  School started, games started and HVS teams have already played over 200 games.  HVS teams are 101-66-40 in official games so far.  This is a terrific start to the year, but even more important to me is how our teams have progressed from the start of preseason until now.  I have been to 35 team practices and over 40 games.  I have seen first-hand how our players are working hard and getting better.

I want to give a quick shout-out to our Team Administrators.  These volunteers work incredibly hard to make sure that our teams run smoothly.  From arranging travel and hotels, to helping handle team expenses, we appreciate your efforts very much.

Along with our full slate of games in October, we have HVS Night coming up on Oct. 17th.  All HVS Teams will be involved in this terrific event.  We will have team practices at Liberty Park from 5:30-6:40 PM.  From 6:40-7:00 PM we will serve all players dinner.  From 7-8:30 PM our oldest boys & girls will compete against each other in showcase games.  All of our players will benefit from watching our oldest players compete.  We have also had a great response from College Coaches who are planning to attend and scout our players.

I want to remind everyone to come to practices wearing the correct HVS practice uniform.  White Practice Shirt, Black Shorts, and Black Soccer Socks.  Shin-guards are required.  You will not be allowed to participate in contact sessions without your Shin-Guards.

Every Monday night from 6-8 PM we have our Monday Night Training Room at Liberty Park.  Any HVS player can stop by to get looked at, treated, or rehab with our Head Trainer Kenny Davis.

We have had a great atmosphere and a great energy at our games so far.  Thank you for all that you have done to help HVS set a great example for everyone.  Every weekend, I have been pleased to see our parents supporting our teams in a positive manner.  I am hopeful that parents from other clubs will follow our example.

I look forward to seeing everyone on the fields.

Sincerely,

Mike Getman
