I hope everyone enjoyed the Holidays and are looking forward to the New Year.

December was another strong month of progress for our club.    Our winning percentage has continued to climb and almost all of our NPL teams are still in the hunt for playoff positioning. Eight of our 12 NPL teams were ranked in the top 3 during this month.

We had a number of games canceled or rescheduled due to COVID.  The rate of cancelations has climbed each of the past few weeks.  We hope that all players and their families have managed to stay healthy during the holiday season.

January will start off with our older teams participating in the Winter Elite Showcase & ID Camp.  This is one of the top recruiting events in the country.  Every year dozens of players are recruited into college soccer thru this event.  While Division I coaches are prevented from attending in person, Video of the event will be available to all college coaches.

The following players have committed to play college soccer:

Jacob Jowers – UAB

Jay Udeh – Univ. of South Carolina-Aiken

Miguel Reyes – Martin Methodist College

Virginia Hunt – Whitman College

Brogan Burrow- Jacksonville State

Camryn Davis – Jacksonville State

LeAnna Eubanks – Tiffin University

We are expecting even more in the weeks and months ahead.

2020 was a crazy year in so many ways.  A raging pandemic made even the most common aspects of our life very difficult. School, soccer, social activities, all were affected.  Many were canceled.  Starting a new soccer organization (HVS) in the middle of this made things even more challenging.  We couldn’t have the normal team and parent meetings as we had planned.  Travel planning and scheduling was chaotic.  Yet, we managed to play our games, train our players and make enormous progress in the development of our players and our teams.

Somehow throughout this, our kids have managed to smile, work hard, and enjoy each other’s company.  I hope you and your family have stayed healthy and are looking forward to a better year ahead.

Happy New Year!
